Cochin Water Metro is a public transportation system that operates on waterways in the city of Kochi and is aimed at providing a sustainable and eco-friendly mode of transport to the residents and tourists of Kochi. It has 16 modern boats, each with a capacity of 100 passengers, which will operate on 15 routes covering a distance of 78 kilometers.
The boats are equipped with state-of-the-art facilities like air-conditioning, Wi-Fi, and GPS tracking systems. It helps to promote tourism in the region. The project is being implemented by Kochi Metro Rail Limited (KMRL) in collaboration with the Government of Kerala, the Government of India, and other stakeholders.
